I am currently an Associate Professor of Philosophy in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Illinois. I am also an Affiliate Associate Professor of Physics in the Department of Physics at the University of Illinois. I am a core faculty member in the Illinois Center for Advanced Studies of the Universe. I was also recently a Visiting Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh’s Center for Philosophy of Science (Spring 2021). I received my Ph.D. in Philosophy from Rutgers University where I completed a dissertation entitled "Essays on Causation, Explanation, and the Past Hypothesis" under the supervision of Barry Loewer. Others on the committee included David Albert (Columbia University), Thomas Banks (physicist), and Jonathan Schaffer. My areas of specialization include Metaphysics, Philosophy of Physics, and Philosophy of Religion. I have published (as sole author) in the International Journal of Modern Physics B, Foundation of Physics, Erkenntnis, Synthese (2x), the International Journal for the Philosophy of Religion (2x), and other venues. I have recently completed a 370+ page research monograph entitled Fundamental Causation: Physics, Metaphysics, and the Deep Structure of the World for Routledge's Studies in Metaphysics series. When I'm not doing philosophy or foundations of physics, I enjoy weight lifting, PS4 gaming, playing with my kids, and date nights with my wife.
